Auburn, Ala. - Day two of the NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at James E. Martin Aquatics Center featured University of Utah junior Traycie Swartz in the 100 back.
Swartz, the current Utah record holder, touched in a time of 53.14 to tie for 23rd in the event. Tess Simpson of Texas A&M also recorded 53.14 seconds.
Cindy Tran of Cal took the national crown in the 100 back (50.83), while Sarah Denninghoff from Arizona took the runner up spot (51.33). Georgia's Megan Romano took third (51.67).
Tomorrow, Swartz will compete in the 100 free, her final event of the NCAA Championships. Swartz's lifetime-best 52.87 seconds in the event rank her 21st in the country.
Through day two, Cal is ranked number one, Georgia is second and USC is third.
