COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The University of Utah men's golf team completed the first day of the Aggie Invitational Saturday at par-72, 7,146-yard Traditions Golf Club. The Utes placed 10th with a two-round mark of 785 (418-367). Freshman Gentry Hicks led the squad after posting an overall score of 153 (81-72) to tie for 17th.
Sophomore Daniel Engle tied for 53rd after completing 15 holes in the second round for a score of 151 (82-69). Freshman Brandon Kida posted a mark of 160 (82-78) after finishing 17 holes in the second round. Freshman Myles Sullivan swung a two-round mark of 167 (85-82) to place 64th. Sophomore Ben Bankhead was not far behind, tying for 65th after finishing 16 holes in the second round for a score of 161 (95-66), while junior Joe Webber placed 70th with a mark of 172 (88-84).
Utah will complete the second round Sunday at 7:30 a.m. CT. The final round of the Aggie Invitational will begin at 8 a.m. CT at Traditions Golf Club.
