Utah freshman Lauren Samuels has a pair of top-20 finishes in alpine skiing to lead the Utes at the World University Games in Trentino, Italy.
Samuels finished 13th in the giant slalom and 17th in the super-G. Also competing was Jaime Dupratt, who skied out in both races.
In nordic skiing, Noé Bellet's best finish of the games has been a 47th-place run in the 10-km free. He finished 48th in the skiathlon (7.5-km classic/7.5-km free) race and was 50th in the classic sprint race. He also participated in the mixed team sprint race.
The World University games continue through Saturday, Dec. 21.
