The Utah baseball team completed its first weekend of practice this past weekend, going down to St. George to take advantage of a chance to practice outdoors.
"We had three really good practices," Utah head coach Bill Kinneberg said. "It was nice to be outside and we got a lot of work in. We had two scrimmages and really made some improvements just because of being outside. It was a very good weekend for us. We're looking forward to going back down there in two weeks."
Utah returns 19 letterwinners, including junior starting pitcher Mitch Watrous, who was an honorable mention all-Pac-12 selection last year. Other returners include starting pitchers Dalton Carroll and Tanner Banks along with relievers Nick Green, Luke West and Josh Chapman. Utah returns all but two starters in the field, including infielders Cory Hunt, Kody Davis and Dallas Carroll and outfielders Wyler Smith and Braden Anderson.
