SALT LAKE CITY- Behind a strong performance from women's diving, the women's swimming and diving team defeated Denver, 152-148. The men fell to the Pioneers, 174-126, despite wins in both diving events.
The meet used the scores from the Air Force Diving Invitational. Kersten Merry won both the 1-meter and 3-meter, while Amanda Casillas swept both second-place spots. Jasmine Matkovic was third in the 3-meter and fifth in the 1-meter. Jake Crayne won the 3-meter for the men while Josiah Purss won the 1-meter with Crayne finishing second. Caleb Herrick was third in the 3-meter and fourth in the 1-meter.
The men suffer their first dual meet defeat of the season.
Utah swimming and diving only has two more dual meets remaining before the Pac-12 Championships. The women host Washington State on Feb. 8, celebrating senior day. The men will compete against USC on Feb. 22.
