SUN VALLEY, Idaho - The Utah ski team recently competed in the Western Region Spring Series in Sun Valley, Idaho, this past weekend. The weekend consisted of two giant slalom and two slalom events for each discipline, while one skier competed in a pair of super G races.
For the men, Mark Engel won a giant slalom race while finishing second in a slalom race. Joergen Brath came away with a podium finish of third in a slalom race while finishing sixth and 14th in the giant slalom races. Andy Trow finished second and fifth in the slalom races, and was 11th and 17th in the giant slalom races. Eian Sandvik finished 12th in slalom and 25th in giant slalom.
For the women, Ana Kobal competed in a pair of super G races, finishing eighth and ninth. Kristiina Rove finished fifth in the slalom. Teagen Palmer finished 11th in slalom and 16th in giant slalom, while Lauren Samuels was eighth in the giant slalom.
