SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah football team started the third week of its spring practice regimen on Tuesday with the seventh of 15 on-field workouts at Rice-Eccles Stadium. UtahUtes.com will provide a behind-the-scenes look during each of the Utes' spring practices.
Practice Summary ...
? Utah was in full pads for its seventh practice of the spring during an overcast afternoon.
? The final 45 minutes of practice began with individual work.
? The Utes then worked on special teams in the north end, while the quarterbacks and tight ends worked on receiving routes.
? Utah then went through full-team work with the first, second and third units rotating series.
? Travis Wilson found Evan Moeai in the end zone down the left seam for a score during the scrimmage.
? Bubba Poole then found the end zone from his slot receiver position.
? The workout continued with red-zone live work from the 12-yard line, which was highlighted by a diving TD run by quarterback Chase Hansen.
? The live work ended with the offense working from its own 1-yard line where the defense recorded a safety and Wilson then scrambled for a first down.
From Coach Whittingham ...
? Feels good about halfway point of spring practice and the team has had a lot of energy.
? Poole has had the right attitude during this transition and he made some nice plays and has been competitive.
? Likes the depth at linebackers and defensive tackles.
? Hunter Dimick is a fierce competitor.

? Working with Defensive Coordinator John Pease has been a great experience. Pease has a lot of wisdom and he has been like a sponge trying to learn as much as possible.
? He expects the very best from his players.

? Poole is a great player and has helped us win a lot of games in the past. He can do it all.
Running back Devontae Booker
? Learning a lot by watching the defense.
? This team has a lot of potential.
