SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - Utah soccer unveiled its schedule for the 2015 season today. The Utes will play 10 matches at home and have nine televised contests on the Pac-12 Networks.
The nine televised contests match last year's total for the most Ute exposure since joining the Pac-12 Conference. Utah was on television seven times during its inaugural campaign in 2012 and six times during its NCAA Tournament run in 2013.
"2015 will be another rock-n-roll year for Pac-12 soccer," Utah head coach Rich Manning said. "Our team is excited to get after it. We have another good group of players and can't wait to get started in August."
Along with television information, the Utes finalized all the start dates and times for their upcoming season.
"Our home field environment continues to be one of the best in the country," Manning added. "We look forward to more great support here at Ute Field. I invite all soccer fans to join us for a game or two, you will love it."
Utah's season starts on August 21 with a pair of road contests against Big East programs, Marquette and DePaul. The Golden Eagles have made the NCAA Tournament six of the past seven seasons and the Blue Demons were 16-1-4 during their 2014 campaign.
The home opener at Ute Field will be on August 28 when Utah hosts Houston in a game that will be televised by the Pac-12 Networks. That same weekend, Utah welcomes Cal State Fullerton, who is coming off a NCAA Tournament appearance.
A three-game road swing begins the following week with trips to archrival BYU, NCAA qualifier San Diego and Boise State. The non-conference slate concludes with a televised matchup against local foe Utah State and Loyola Marymount.
A league-record nine Pac-12 teams earned berths to the 2014 NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament and league play begins this year on Sept. 25. For the second year in a row, the Utes will host perennial power Stanford in a nationally-televised affair.
Utah will also host Washington State, Washington (Pac-12 Networks), Arizona State, Arizona and Colorado (Pac-12 Networks) on Senior Day. Four of the five road contests will also be nationally televised as the Utes travel to Oregon State, Oregon, California, USC and UCLA.
The NCAA Tournament begins the weekend of Nov. 13-15, as the Utes hope to reach the postseason for the second time in three years and seventh time overall.
