SALT LAKE CITY - Kielani "K.K." Fronda and Delilah Pacheco have signed to play softball for the University of Utah beginning in the spring of 2016, head coach Amy Hogue announced today.
DELILAH PACHECO

Club Team: Texas Hawks Gold
At Blinn, Pacheco was named a NFCA and NJCAA All-American, capturing the Marucci Elite Hitter Award this past season. A two-time First Team All-Conference and All-Region choice, Pacheco was also named the Region XIV Tournament MVP and led the conference in stolen bases.
Over two seasons, she batted .391 with 69 stolen bases and maintained a .438 on-base percentage and .433 slugging percentage.
At Moody, Pacheco was an All-American her senior year and was a two-time all-state performer. She also captured the Slugger Award and led the nation in stolen bases with 84. Pacheco was also a four-time First Team All-District and All-South Texas selection, batting .510 with 236 hits and 102 runs batted in.
Pacheco also helped her club team, Texas Hawks Gold, to a Region XIV South Zone Conference championship and tournament title.
A multi-sport athlete that played volleyball, basketball and track in high school, Delilah is the daughter of Wally and Debbie Pacheco. She has three siblings, Zach, Zaaron and Demi.
Coach Hogue on Pacheco: "Delilah is an exciting addition to our team. She has shown not just an ability to get on base, but also be a threat when she reaches. Her versatility is another positive aspect to her game as she's able to play the infield and outfield."
Pacheco on choosing Utah: "I chose the University of Utah because after meeting Coach A (Hogue) and Coach Maggs (Livreri) and some of the softball players, they made me feel comfortable. I was able to be myself and blend with them very well. Personally, being able to find chemistry with my coaches and teammates so quickly was very important. The school has a great learning environment and it is also a dream come true to be able to play softball at the highest level of Division I. I am really excited for this upcoming season."

At Palomar, Fronda was named an All-American, as well as being selected to all-conference and all-state teams during both seasons. She batted .445 during her two years with 13 home runs and 73 runs batted in. In the process, she helped lead Palomar to a 2014 California state championship.
At Rancho Cotate, Fronda was the team captain and an All-Empire First Team honoree. She also played basketball was an all-league selection.
K.K. is the daughter of Henry Fronda and Renea Guerrero
Coach Hogue on Fronda: "K.K. comes from a winning program at Palomar and that should help her with the atmosphere we are trying to create at Utah. She was one of the top hitters in the league, not just for average, but with power."
Fronda on choosing Utah: "I chose to go to the University of Utah because it has always been my dream to play at a top Division 1 program. The Pac-12 Conference is the best in the nation and I am excited to be a Ute!"
