LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Utah Swimming and Diving swept UNLV on Friday evening. The men won with a score of 192-100, while the women came out ahead with a score of 178-122.
To start the meet, the women's relay team of Shayla Archer, Stina Colleou, Darby Wayner and Dorien Butter captured the 400 medley relay touching in at 3:47.65. Butter would also take first in the 100 free (51.69).
Jordan Anderson took first in the 1,000 free (10:19.55) and the 200 fly (2:04.80) to cap a solid evening while Sarah Lott was first in the 200 free (1:51.94) and Colleou captured the 200 breast (2:17.07).
Adding to the win total were Gillian St. John in the 50 free (23.69) and Wayner in the 100 fly (56.65). Wayner also took second in the 200 IM (2:06.83).
In the 100 back, Shayla Archer was second with a time of 58.19. Mallori Allen (58.35) and Hailey Pabst (1:00.19) followed for the Utes. Allen also took second in the 200 back touching in at 2:04.52.
McKenna Gassaway took third in the 100 breast (1:04.95) with her sister Mariah Gassaway taking fourth (1:05.83).
The quartet of Jenna Marsh, Kristine Pataray, St.John and Butter took first in the 200 free relay touching in at 1:34.75. Lott, Claire Jackson, Anderson and Pabst took second (1:37.36).
On the board, Amanda Casillas was first in the one-meter event tallying a score of 310.80 with Lauren Hall in second (291.15). Casillas was second in the three-meter (253.95) and Hall was third (229.28).
The men's team of McKay King, Jack Burton, Colten Montgomery and Liam O'Haimhirgin started the men's evening by taking first in the 400 medley relay (3:21.01). King would later take first in the 100 back (49.57).
Jack Burton remained undefeated this season as he took first in the 100 breast with a time of 55.92 and the 200 breast (2:04.38).
In the 1,000 free, Rahiti De Vos took first (9:20.69) with Matteo Sogne (9:24.92) and Brody Lewis (9:24.92) following the freshman.
Austin Phillips captured the 200 free touching in at 1:41.88. Brendan Nguyen was second in the event (1:42.46). Ethan Dilllard was first in the 200 back (1:51.21) with Phillips (1:51.21) and Nguyen following (1:53.33).
In the 500 free, Brandon Shreeve was first touching in at 4:33.96 and in the 100 fly, Montgomery took first (59.54).
A one-two finish by the Utes in the 200 fly was turned in by Luis Macias (1:50.15) and Chris Taber (1:50.15). Tommy Baker was third in the 100 free touching in at 45.89.
In diving competition, sophomore Connor Cain was first in the one-meter and three-meter. On the one-meter board, he came out with a total score of 288.90. Josiah Purss was second (267.45). On the three-meter, Cain tallied a score of 336.45 with Daniel Theriault coming in second (291.68).
The Utes will have next week off before heading to Columbus to compete in the Ohio State Invitational, Nov. 17-19.
