Utah moves up five spots to be ranked No. 22
SALT LAKE CITY – The 22nd-ranked Utah cross country team will send several student-athletes to the Utah State Steve Reeder Memorial to compete on Friday, Oct. 6. The race is set to start at 3:00 p.m. MT.
Utah's top runners are coming off a strong performance at the Notre Dame Invitational.
"We had a lot of kids run really great races last week and of course all that does is make my life miserable trying to choose who we are going to race at Wisconsin in a couple of weeks," Utah head coach Kyle Kepler said. "We have three less bodies that we get to race in that meet so it's going to be some tough decisions, but we have some kids that will be racing up at Utah State this weekend, and that will help determine those spots."
Running for the Utes this weekend will be junior Hannah Allred, sophomore Anna Busatto, sophomore Emma Christensen, freshman Astrid Lindgren, junior Jade Mulvey, senior Megan Perkins-Killian, freshman Natalie Platil, junior Megan Spehar, and freshman Melissa Taggart. Mulvey finished 10th in the open race at Notre Dame while Allred finished 13th.
After a fifth-place finish at the Notre Dame Invitational last Friday, the Utes moved up to five spots to 22nd in the latest USTFCCCA poll. Utah remains ranked fifth in the Mountain Region.
