SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah football program is set to host the UCLA Bruins for its second weekday game of the season, taking place Friday night at 7:30 p.m. MT. The game is serving as Utah's annual Blackout game.Â
Use the hashtag #UCLAvsUTAHÂ all week to follow the conversation on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.Â
Blackout Stats: Friday is the 10th-annual blackout game in Rice-Eccles Stadium. Utah is 7-2 in blackout games. Fans are encouraged to join the team in wearing black attire. Ute blackout merchandise is available at the official Utah Utes' online store at http://www.uredzone.com/Utah-Utes/Promotions/Utes-Blackout-Game?aff=athblckout.
News, Notes, Fun Facts:
• Cody Ippolito has been playing primarily at tight end/fullback for the Utes after joining the team as a linebacker. He is now listed as a fullback/linebacker, wearing the No. 48.Â
• Demari Simpkins and Julian Blackmon have been promoted to the No. 1 kick return duo spots.Â
• Alani Havili-Katoa (right guard) and Devonta'e Henry-Cole (running back) both made their first career starts at Oregon.Â
• Kylie Fitts played for the Bruins in 2013 before transferring to Utah in 2014.Â
• Darrin Paulo scored his first career touchdown against Oregon on a tipped pass.Â

On if the coaching staff addressed the team about what happened on campus over the last 24 hours...
"Well yeah, I mean it was horrible, it was tragic. We had been communicating with our guys last night, so we were well covered about the situation. We were making sure everyone was OK and see if anyone needed extra assistance with anything and to let them know that was available."
On if he feels that the game against UCLA is an elimination type game...
"No, we treat every week the same. So we don't have a different approach or a different mindset, we just try to be in the best mindset we can be in for the game. We want to come out with some energy and some passion and be ready to compete."Â
Tight ends coach Freddie Whittingham
On how the switch from being in the booth to being on the field has gone...
"I think it went really well. I think as a coordinator, Troy Taylor had a better view up in the booth of everything that was going on and see the coverages they are in. You get a bit more piece of mind up there because it is quiet and you get the whole big picture view. I love being down on the field. I like being able to talk to my guys as they come off the field, talk about adjustments, things they are seeing or things we could be doing that they have picked up on and adjusting."

On how he likes being on the Utah football team...
"I love being on the team. They are all my brothers on the team, we are really close."
On his favorite memory so far at Utah...
"I feel like every morning is a favorite memory here. Because I look back at that time and think, 'when am I ever going to do this again?' All the morning workouts, all of the times I am with my brothers just dying for the team."
Offensive lineman Lo Falemaka
On how he has tried to improve this season...
"Just studying and practicing good habits. A lot of people say practice makes perfect, so that is one thing we need to pick up as well."
