SAN FRANCISCO – Led by first-team selections Grayson Murphy, Nicole Griffiths and Megan Spehar, the Utah cross country team had 11 student-athletes named to the Pac-12 Cross Country All-Academic team.
Murphy, a senior who finished eighth at the NCAA Championships to earn All-America honors, is a civil engineering major with a 3.91 grade point average. Spehar, a junior chemistry major, is a two-time first-team all-academic selection in cross country. She has a 3.98 grade point average. Griffiths is a sophomore kinesiology major with a 4.0 grade point average.
Earning honorable mention honors was junior Caitie Faust, sophomore Amanda Gehrich, senior Dakota Grossman, senior Hannah McInturff, redshirt freshman Trina Moreno, sophomore Jade Mulvey, senior Jessica Sams, redshirt freshman Melissa Taggert and sophomore Poppy Tank. McInturff is a four-time All-Academic selection, Grossman has earned honors three times and Mulvey is a two-time all-academic selection.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
