Jayson Rose has been named to the Golden Spikes Award preseason watch list while pitcher
Dylan Drachler has been named to the preseason watch list for the Stopper of the Year award.

Rose is one of 55 players on the Golden Spikes Award watch list, which is presented to the top amateur baseball player in the country. An All-Pac-12 selection last season, Rose set the Utah record for strikeouts in a season with 106 which ranked second in the Pac-12. He was the only league pitcher to have over 100 strikeouts in the regular season (102). Rose held opponents to a .205 batting average, which ranked sixth in the Pac-12, and his 2.89 ERA was 10th in the league. He went 8-5 in 16 starts on the year.

Drachler was an honorable mention All-Pac-12 pick last year. Utah's go-to closer, he was fifth in the league with nine saves, including seven saves in league games. Drachler's 2.92 ERA was second on the team and he had 45 strikeouts. The Stopper of the Year award is given to the top relief pitcher in NCAA Division I baseball by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
