SAN FRANCISCO—The Pac-12 champion Utah gymnastics team won more honors today when freshman MyKayla Skinner, senior Baely Rowe, sophomore MaKenna Merrell and junior Tiffani Lewis were named to the All-Pac-12 Conference team.
Skinner led the conference by winning first-team honors in four categories (all-around, vault, bars and floor), while Rowe led the league with five total awards (first team in the all-around and beam and second team on vault, bars and floor). Merrell made the second team in the all-around and on vault and Lewis was a second-team selection on floor.
Rowe now has seven career all-conference awards, while Lewis's all-conference portfolio increases to three. Skinner (4) and Merrell (2) are first-time selections.
Skinner, who is coming off Pac-12 titles in the all-around and on vault and floor, is the top-ranked gymnast in the Pac-12 in the all-around and on floor (ranking No. 2 and No. 1 nationally in those disciplines). Rowe is tied for second in the Pac-12 in the all-around and is ranked No. 5 nationally. Lewis shared the Pac-12 vault title with Skinner.
