As classes begin at the University of Utah, the cross country team continues its preparation for the Utah State Sagebrush Invitational on Sept. 2. The Utes held a preseason camp in Heber City, Utah, last week.
"I thought camp went about as well as it's ever gone in my entire time here," Utah head coach
Kyle Kepler said. "Incredible senior leadership - they were really on top of things, breaking down the information to the younger kids and making sure they were not only aware of team rules, but what we're shooting for and how we operate and how we do things here. The focus is training and doing what the coaches ask them to do on a daily basis to the best of their ability, and if they do that then everything will work out for them. Training was awesome up there. The kids are probably a little more excited than we wish they were. We haven't really hit any serious workouts yet, that will start to materialize a little more this week as we get going."
