Utes Beaten by No. 2 Cal

Utah wins three individual events vs. Golden Bears

BERKELEY, Calif. - The Utah men's swimming and diving team fell at No. 2 Cal this evening, 191-100. Rahiti De Vos, Colten Montgomery and Jackson Cunningham won individual events against the Golden Bears.

De Vos, who ranks second all-time at Utah in the 500 free, won the event tonight with a time of 4:30.31. Montgomery, the third-fastest swimmer in the 100 fly, clocked in with a time of 50.44. Cunningham, a newcomer to the Utes, took the 400 IM in 3:59.73

In diving, Rylan Little earned another second-place finish with a score of 277.29 in the one-meter. Another Ute freshman, Luke McDivitt had his team's top score in the three-meter (319.50)

A few more freshmen also exceled in the pool with Nick Becker taking third in the 1000 free (9:19.57) and Andrew Britton doing the same in the 100 breast (55.88).

The Utes had a couple more third-place finishes courtesy of Rodolfo Moreira in the 50 free (20.42), Felix Chiun in the 100 free (44.86) and Ethan Dillard in the 200 breast (2:05.15)

The men host Colorado Mesa tomorrow at 4 p.m. It is the home opener at the newly named Don Reddish Pool at Ute Natatorium
