SALT LAKE CITY - It was a rainy day at Rice-Eccles Stadium for Utah's second scrimmage of the spring season and 12th practice overall with the Utah offense highlighting the day.Â
Â
Tyler Huntley, Jack Tuttle and Jason Shelley all got in solid reps today at quarterback with Zack Moss (1 TD), TJ Green and Armand Shyne (1 TD) showing improvement at running back. Both Huntley and Tuttle threw for over 70 yards today, combining for three touchdown passes while Shelley linked up with Jaylen Dixon for two of Dixon's four scores.Â
On defense, Josh Nurse grabbed another interception after also finishing with one in Utah's last scrimmage. Maxs Tupai was able to come up with a fumble recovery while Terrell Burgess and Paul Maile were Utah's leading tacklers.Â
On special teams, Matt Gay was able to knock in a 50-plus yard field goal while Mitch Wishnowsky got in some solid reps at punting despite the conditions.Â

On who stood out today...
"Jaylen Dixon played well today, Tyler Huntley played well. The protection was good, which was really good to see. The protection from the offensive line, particularly from the ones was really good."
On if he felt it was an offensive day...
"You know, it was give and take. I'll have to go to the film, but I think the defense won some situations there at the end, but the offense started out real strong. I think it was a day that the whole team played well."
On if anyone on defense stood out...
"Bradlee Anae always stands out, but he was limited today and didn't play much. I think on defense overall we are playing within in the structure of the defense, players are doing what they are coached, and that is what you want to see."
On if there are still position battles going on...
"Yeah with the whole team. No job is safe. Everyone has to keep producing every day. We have a depth chart right now, but it is still a work in progress. You come out of spring with a good idea of the guys you are going to count on in the fall, but a lot of things can change in the summer time with guys that make progress. Nothing will be solidified completely until fall camp."
