Week 2 Preview
After taking last week off for the University's spring break, the Utah football team resumes camp this week, holding practices on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Interviews will be conducted after practice on Tuesday, Mar. 19 and Thursday, Mar. 21. Outdoor practices are open to the public. All three practices this week will be held at the Eccles Football Facility.

Camp Notes
Tuesday will mark the first practice of the spring with tackling permitted. The Utes will also tackle on Saturday, while there will be no tackling on Thursday. For the remainder of the spring, two of the three practices each week will feature tackling … After three years as the co-special teams coordinator, Sharrieff Shah has been promoted to special teams coordinator. Shah is preparing for his eighth year coaching the cornerbacks.
In the Huddle
During the first week of camp, senior offensive lineman Kyle Lanterman was placed on scholarship. He has been with the program as a walk-on since 2015 … According to head coach Kyle Whittingham, positions that stood out in the week prior to spring break were the defensive line, cornerbacks and quarterbacks … Quarterback reps will continue to be split fairly evenly for now between Tyler Huntley, Jason Shelley, Drew Lisk and Cameron Rising, but that will change as spring ball progresses … Spring enrollees who impressed in their first week of camp were quarterback Rising, defensive end Semisi Lauaki, linebacker Manny Bowen, punter Ben Lennon and offensive lineman Luke Felix-Fualalo.
What's Ahead
The annual Pro Day (closed to the public) is Thursday, Mar. 28 … Future Saturday practices (all scrimmages) will be held at Rice-Eccles Stadium, with the first on Saturday, Mar. 30 at 10 a.m. in Rice-Eccles Stadium.
