Utah Track & Field Athletes Honored by MPSF
21 Utes named MPSF All-Academic

WOODLAND, Calif. – More than 20 of Utah's track and field athletes were named to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) All-Academic team this weekend, for the 2019 women's indoor track and field season. 

Utah had a total of 21 student-athletes named to the all-academic team, tying both BYU and Stanford for the most on a single squad. A total of 21 schools made up the 2019 MPSF All-Academic teams.

Earning all-academic honors for Utah this past indoor season were: Hannah Allred, Anna Busatto, Emma Christensen, Sarah Feeny, Nicole Griffiths, Eliza Hansen, Whitney Hessler, Astrid Lindgren, Brooke Martin, Jackie Martin, Ruby Jane Mathewson, Trina Moreno, Sarah Newton, Natalie Platil, Poppy Tank, Sadie Wassum, Mesa Weidle, Raynee Helm-Wheelock, Rachel Whipple, Bella Williams and Cara Woolnough

This is Utah's most-ever MPSF All-Academic selections, breaking last season's previous best-mark of 17 student-athletes earning academic honors. Utah had 11 student-athletes named MPSF All-Academic in 2017, 12 in 2016, 14 in 2015 and 10 back in 2014.

To be eligible for selection, the student-athlete must have a 3.00 or better cumulative grade point average and must have completed one full academic year at the institution. The student-athlete must also have competed in fifty percent or more of the institution's competitions.
