Cara Woolnough has been named to the 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-District Women's Track/Cross Country Team. The team, selected by CoSIDA, was announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Woolnough was named a second team honoree from District 8, which recognizes student-athletes from Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Canada. She is the first Utah track/cross country athlete to be named CoSIDA Academic All-District since Rosalie Waller earned the honor in 2014, and she is the 14th Ute overall named to the team since 2003.
Woolnough posted a top-five finish, along with three top-50 finishes during the cross country season, and then went onto register a first-place finish in the mile event at the Colorado Invitational during the indoor season. She would later register a new PR in the mile with a time of 4:53.15 at the MPSF Indoor Championships. During the outdoor season, Woolnough tallied three top-five finishes in the 1500-meter run, which included running a personal-best time of 4:24.89 at the Portland Twilight and now ranks as the eighth fastest time in school hisory. She would go onto finish 13th in the event at the Pac-12 Championships and was later selected to the NCAA West Region Prelims, which took place this past weekend in Sacramento, Calif.

The Google Cloud Academic All-District Women's Track/Cross Country Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom. The Google Cloud Academic All-America program separately recognizes outstanding student-athletes in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
