SALT LAKE CITY – University of Utah gymnastics head coach
Tom Farden announced the addition of transfer Emilie LeBlanc to the 2020 roster today, rounding out what is already a deep signing class.
LeBlanc, who will be immediately eligible for competition, comes to Utah after spending two seasons at Maryland. She will join USA National Team members Abby Paulson and Maile O'Keefe along with Junior Olympic national champions Jillian Hoffman and Jaedyn Rucker as newcomers on the team this fall.
"Emilie has the aptitude to make immediate impacts on both bars and beam," Farden said. "Her infectious personality and proven success in the NCAA will be a huge asset to our program."
Prior to her time at Maryland, LeBlanc was a standout at the Junior Olympic Nationals, placing fifth in the all-around, fourth on beam and 10
th on the vault in 2016. She was also the bars, floor and all-around champion at the 2016 Regionals while placing second on beam and fourth on vault.
The Holly Springs, N.C., native was the 2016 North Carolina State Vault and Balance Beam Champion while competing for Sonshine Gymnastics.

Competed in 29 meets for Maryland in both bars and beam from 2018-19 … won the bars twice and earned the title on beam three times as a sophomore in 2019 … earned a 9.850 or higher on bars four times during the 2019 season and posted a 9.850 or higher on beam three times … career-high 9.900 on beam and a 9.825 on bars at the Maryland Quad last season to tie for first on both … won the beam with a 9.850 against Ohio State in 2019 … posted a 9.850 on bars and a 9.800 on beam at NCAA Regionals as a sophomore … scored a 9.850 or higher on bars five times as a freshman in 2018 … won the bars title with a 9.875 at West Virginia in 2018 … notched a career-best score of 9.900 on bars at both the Pink Invitational and the Maryland Five Meet as a freshman … daughter of Stephane and Chantel LeBlanc … has three siblings … majoring in kinesiology.
