SALT LAKE CITY – MyKayla Skinner is set to compete at the U.S. Gymnastics Championships tomorrow night at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo.  Skinner will compete against 16 gymnasts in the senior division, contending for national titles and a spot on the senior national team.
The prelims of the women's senior division begin Friday night at 5:30 p.m. MT (7:30 p.m. ET), while the finals will take place this Sunday, Aug. 11 at 5:30 p.m. MT (7:30 p.m. ET). Skinner will begin the evening on the floor, followed by vault, bars, and beam.
"It is very exciting to be competing here at the U.S. Championships," said Skinner. "It is my first championships in three years, so I am going to go out there and have fun during the competition and hope it goes well. Training has been a lot better these past few weeks since the U.S. Classic and I am ready to be competing on all four events. It has been very hard and a lot of practice, but I am so thankful to have so much support behind me."
The event will exhibit the nation's top gymnasts who will be in the mix for the 2020 Olympic Games. Performances at the U.S. Championships are a part of the selection process for the senior national team that will compete at the 2019 World Championships this October in Stuttgart, Germany.
