Utes in the NFL: Week 1 Recap, Week 2 Preview

SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Utah will be well represented in the second week of the 2019 NFL season with eight games on the schedule for this week. Utah has 20 former athletes on NFL rosters this season.
NFL Week 2: When to watch your Utes (active players only):

Thirteen former Utah football players earned playing time in week one with six different players starting for their teams.
Former secondary standout for the Utes Eric Rowe shined in his first game with Miami, starting at cornerback to lead the team with 11 tackles, which was an NFL career-high. It is his fifth season overall in the NFL after playing with New England the last three seasons and with Philadelphia before that.
The Utes also had four newcomers to the league in Cody Barton, Marquise Blair, Matt Gay and Mitch Wishnowsky all receiving valuable minutes on the field in week one.
Both Barton and Blair saw action in Seattle's 21-20 win over Cincinnati with Blair notching a tackle on special teams.
Wishnowsky and Gay faced off on different teams for the first time in two years when San Francisco and Tampa Bay met on Gay's home turf with the 49ers beating the Buccaneers 31-17. Gay finished the game with two PATs and a 31-yard field goal while Wishnowsky had two punts for 91 yards (45.5 avg) with a long of 54 yards.
