Adding to a very deep and talented freshman class, freshman Abby Paulson comes to Utah ready to add her intricate skills and significant meet experience to the team. A former U.S. Senior National Team member and a five-year international elite, Paulson has competed at the highest level, which includes competing at the P&G National Championships for five straight years (2013-17), as well as six straight U.S Classics (2012-17).
At her last U.S Classic in 2017, Paulson placed second in the all-around and fifth on the floor. Also a fantastic beam worker, Paulson posted a sixth place finish at the 2017 P&G Championships. Paulson's top international performance was at the 2017 City of Jesolo Trophy in Italy where she came away with a first-place finish on floor, while also finishing in third in the all-around.
Most recently, Paulson had a stellar performance at the 2019 Region 4 Championships, collecting event titles in the all-around and beam, along with second place finishes on bars and floor. Paulson also tabbed a second-place finish on floor at the 2019 J.O. National Championships (Senior F Division).
Paulson joined the Red Rocks this past summer, enrolling in summer school and participating in voluntary training. She graduated from Anoka High School with highest honors in her hometown of Anoka, Minn., and trained at Twin City Twisters.
