Utes in the NFL: Week 10 Review, Week 11 Preview

SALT LAKE CITY – Things are heating up in the NFL as teams enter week 11 with just seven weeks remaining before the postseason. Sixteen former Utes are ready to suit up for their respective teams this week with four others taking advantage of a bye week.

Starting the week on Thursday night, Kylie Fitts and the Arizona Cardinals are set to take on Cody Barton and the Seattle Seahawks for a chance to take a one-game lead in the NFC West. Both teams are currently sitting in a three-way tie with the Los Angeles Rams, all holding a 6-3 overall record.
Old teammates will reunite on Sunday when Eric Rowe and Miami battles the Denver Broncos with Tim Patrick and Garett Bolles. Rowe and Patrick spent a year together with the Utes in 2014 when Rowe was a senior All-Pac-12 selection and Patrick was in his first season with the program after transferring from Grossmont College.
Former Ute consensus All-American kicker Matt Gay will get the chance to play for the first time this season after recently signing with the Los Angeles Rams active roster. Gay has spent most of the season on the Indianapolis Colts practice squad after starting for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2019 (27-of-35 FG, 43-of-48 PAT).

How To Watch Your Utes In Week 11:
Week 10 brought incredible accomplishments to several Utes, including former No. 1 draft pick Alex Smith, who started a game in the NFL for the first time in 728 days. Smith started for the Washington Football Team on Sunday, finishing the game 38-of-55 passing for 390 yards.

Devontae Booker played in integral part in the Las Vegas Raiders' 37-12 win over the Denver Broncos, the team he played with for four years before signing with Las Vegas as a free agent in 2020. Booker rushed for 81 yards, the second-most in his NFL career (83 yards vs. Texans, 2016), on 16 carries with two touchdowns.

On defense, Julian Blackmon was explosive for the Indianapolis Colts in their win over Tennessee on the road, finishing with four tackles including a tackle for loss. Blackmon's tackle for loss came on a first-and-10 on the Tennesee 29-yard line as he blasted through the Titans' defense to wrap up Derrick Henry for a loss of four.
