Kara Eaker joins the Red Rocks fresh off of her selection as a 2020 U.S. Olympic Team alternate. Eaker being named an alternate comes after many years of international and national success. She is a four-year member of the U.S. National Team (2017-21) and is a two-time World Champion as a Team USA member.Â
She earned a spot in Tokyo for the Olympics after placing second on beam, sixth on floor and seventh in the all-around at the 2021 U.S. Olympic Team Trials. Along with her gold medals at the World Championships with the team results, Eaker also advanced to both beam finals in 2018 and 2019, placing sixth and fourth overall, respectively. At the 2018 Pan American Championships, Eaker won the gold medal on beam and the team gold medal, while she also took home the bronze medal on floor.Â
The Grain Valley, Mo. native had just as much success nationally where she was a U.S. Championships and U.S. Classic qualifier since 2017. Eaker finished as the silver medalist on beam at the 2018 and 2019 U.S. Championships, while she was first on beam, third in the all-around, fourth on floor and fifth on bars at the 2017 U.S. Championships (Jr.). She is a two-time gold medalist on beam at the U.S. Classic as well.Â
