MARLBORO, N.J. – Utah Gymnastics heads into the 2024 season as the nation's fourth-ranked team according to the results of the WCGA Preseason Poll, which was announced Friday morning. It is the seventh straight season Utah will begin the year ranked in the top five nationally.
Utah is one of six teams to earn at least one first-place vote, the Utes totaled 1,516 points in the poll with two first-place votes. Edging Utah for the top three spots in the poll were Oklahoma (1,709 pts; 36 first place), Florida (1,634 points; three first-place votes), and LSU (1,628; five first-place votes). Rounding out the top-five teams behind Utah and also receiving first-place votes, UCLA comes in at fifth with (1,499). Michigan (1,466) is just outside of the top five, still receiving a first-place vote.
The Red Rocks are set to face nine teams in the top-25 poll throughout the 2024 campaign. After opening the season against Boise State at home, Utah will compete against three of the top-five teams in the country, heading down the road to the Maverik Center to take on Oklahoma, LSU and UCLA in a four-team event. All eight Pac-12 gymnastics teams are ranked in the top-25 to begin the year as well.
Utah will be in action on Friday, Dec. 15 with the Red Rocks Preview with introductions set to begin at 6:45 p.m. MT from the Jon M. Huntsman Center. The intrasquad will be live-streamed on the Pac-12 Networks. There will be post-meet autographs with the Red Rocks and the gymnasts will be debuting the Red Rocks Collection.
