SALT LAKE CITY – University of Utah freshman alpine skier 
Jay Poulter has been selected to represent the United States at the 2024 FIS Alpine Junior World Ski Championships, announced by U.S. Ski & Snowboard. Poulter is one of 16 athletes tabbed to Team USA, with junior worlds scheduled for January 28 through February 3 in Haute-Savoie, France.
 
A native of Stratton, Vermont, this past October Poulter accepted a nomination to the Stifel U.S. Alpine Ski Team for the 2023-24 season. Placed on the 'C' team, he was one of 55 total athletes to accept nominations.
 
Poulter first joined the U.S. Ski Team in 2021-22, after stints with Stratton Mountain School and Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club. He was also a member of the U.S. Ski Team Alpine National Development Group during 2020-21.
 
While getting ready for his first season with the Utes, he has raced on the Nor-Am circuit. Most recently Poulter had a fourth-place result in slalom at Burke Mountain on January 5, 2024. He also skied to the podium last April at the U.S. National Championships, placing third in slalom.
 
Next Up
The RMISA schedule is in full swing for the Utah Ski Team, with alpine taking center stage this week. The Utah Olympic Park will host both the Westminster Invitational and Utah Invitational in Park City, Utah, as the first collegiate races to take place in the venue. Each day's action is scheduled for a 9 a.m. start.
