GREENSBORO, N.C. – The University of Utah's swim program continued it's way through the Toyota U.S. Open with freshman
Jones Lambert earning the first individual medal for the Utes on Thursday night in the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
"We are pretty happy with the way we raced tonight," said associate head coach
Jos Smith.
Finals
- Lambert earned the Utes a bronze medal after he dropped more than two and a half seconds in the 500-yard freestyle to bump from fifth to third with a finals time of 4:20.43.
- In the B-final, Nolan Arnholt dropped time to swim a 4:27.30 for a 13th place finish.
- Tomas Chocholaty touched the wall at 4:24.75, earning the first finish in the C-final of the 500-free.
- In the 200-yard IM B-final, Strahinja Maslo swam a 1:48.86 for a 14th place finish.
- Representing the women's team, Erin Palmer grabbed the 4th place spot with a swim of 22.50 in the 50-yard freestyle after dropping time from her prelims swim.
- On the men's side, Marshall Odom dropped time for a 20.11 finish and the top finish in the C-final.
"This is a great meet to race at on the national level," said Smith. "And it's great for our program to be able to podium in multiple events."
Looking Ahead
Utah will swim through two more days of the Toyota U.S. Open, on Friday and Saturday in the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
