INDIANAPOLIS – Fifth-ranked Utah Gymnastics earned an NCAA Regional berth in the Gainesville Regional this year, heading to Stephen C. O'Connell Center as the second seed at the regional site. Utah will begin action in the NCAA Regional Second Round on Friday, April 5, competing in the afternoon session at 11 a.m. MT.Â
Joining Utah in the afternoon session will be No. 12 Michigan State, Towson, and Maryland. The evening session at 5 p.m. MT features No. 4 Florida, No. 13 Missouri, Georgia, and the winner of the play-in round between Clemson and Iowa State. Â Teams were seeded No. 1-16 based on National Qualifying Scores, while the remaining 20 qualifiers were placed in regions geographically.Â
The top two finishing teams of each session will advance to the NCAA Regional Final on Sunday, April 7, at 3 p.m. MT. Then, the top two finishing teams from the regional final will earn a spot at the 2024 NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championships in Fort Worth, Texas, on Apr. 18-20.
Utah Gymnastics is competing for a record 48th-consecutive national championship appearance this season. Utah is the only program in the nation to qualify for every national championship. The Red Rocks have won 34 regional titles (31 NCAA) and have finished second the other 13 years.
The Utes are coming off the program's fourth-straight Pac-12 Championship, marking the first time a team has won four consecutive Pac-12 titles since the league expanded in 2012. The conference title marks Utah's 11th title overall after the Red Rocks have now claimed seven Pac-12 Championships in the last 10 years and four Pac-12 Regular Season Championships.
