SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Golf stayed in their own backyard for the 2026 signing class, adding four local talents to their future roster.
Jaxon Erickson, Will Pizza, Will Pedersen, and Ben Wilson all hail from Utah, and will add a strong homegrown flair for the Utes in the years to come.
"This class is awesome," said head coach
Garrett Clegg. "We are excited to be signing four local players. We always heavily recruit the state of Utah, and so when things work out to bring Utahns into our program, we are thrilled about it."
"These four young men are incredible people and will make a tremendous impact on the program when they arrive on campus," continued coach Clegg. "I'm thrilled for them to become Utes. Welcome to the family."
Jaxon Erickson | Riverton, Utah | Riverton High School
Erickson has had an impressive career so far, recording Riverton High School's lowest scoring average (70.2 career, 69 senior year) and highest state finish in program history.
The Riverton native is a three-time First Team 6A All-State, and four-year letter winner.
In 2025, Erickson cleaned up, earning the 2025 Region 2 Championship, taking first in the 2025 UJGA Coca-Cola Jr., and finishing second in the 2025 Utah Jr. State AM.
Additionally, Erickson has proven to be a good student, making the Honor Roll from 2023-2025.
Erickson is the son of Tim and Brandi and youngest of three siblings (Kylie and Kenzie). Father, Tim, was an all-conference basketball player at Idaho State. Sister, Kylie, was part of the Utah Dance Team.
Erickson enjoys fishing and camping when he's not playing golf and grew up a fan of the Utes.
"Jaxon Erickson has been one of the top junior golfers in Utah his entire life," said coach Clegg. "He's a great player out of Riverton that has played well both in Utah and outside of the state. Jaxon grew up coming to Utah Football games and tailgating next to the David S. Layton Golf Academy. He will be an excellent addition to our team next fall."
Will Pizza | Draper, Utah | Corner Canyon High School
Pizza (pronounced Pisa) is a three-time All-Region Team and State Champion out of Corner Canyon High School earning three letters in four years of play.
As a senior, Pizza saved his best for last, helping his team to a 6A Championship while taking second individually at State and making the All-State Team. Pizza also placed top 10 individually at Nationals and made the All-National Team.
Utah's future golfer out of Draper, Utah, is an excellent student earning a 4.0 GPA and graduating with honors.
Pizza is the son of Chris and Lindsey (both Utah alums) and the oldest of three siblings (Kaya and Ivy). Pizza's grandfather was a former Utah Golfer, and his great-grandfather was a Runnin' Ute.
When Pizza isn't on the course, he enjoys playing basketball, water sports, and watching sports.
"Will Pizza has worked extremely hard over the past 18 months to become one of the top junior golfers in the state," said coach Clegg. "His improvement over the summer of 2025 was exceptional. Will's family has a long history with the Utes both academically and athletically and we are thrilled he will be continuing that tradition with us next fall."
Will Pedersen | Holladay, Utah| Olympus High School
Pedersen comes to Utah after having spent time as the Titans' No. 1 player on varsity, earning the state of Utah's lowest scoring average among all high school classifications for 2025 at 66.3.
As a senior, Pedersen tied for first in the Individual State Championship, won an individual regional title, and was the champion at the Utah Jr. State AM in 2025 (15–18-year-old division). Additionally, through his career, Pedersen helped Olympus to a team championship in 2023, placed second at the Black Desert National High School Invitational, earned First Team All-State three times, and lettered four years.
Pedersen has also succeeded in the classroom taking multiple AP classes and earning honor roll every semester of high school.
Pedersen is the son of Jeff and Heather, and is the middle of four siblings (Abigail, Madison, and Caroline). Father, Jeff, was a basketball player at BYU Hawaii.
The Holladay, Utah native is a two-sport athlete and earned several league championships playing AAU basketball. Pedersen still enjoys basketball when he's not playing golf, as well as skiing, boating, pickleball, ping pong, and surfing.
"Will Pedersen is a player we have watched for a number of years as a two-sport athlete playing both golf and basketball," said coach Clegg. "He is an explosive and powerful player that has had success all over the country. Will is planning on serving an LDS Mission and will join us when he is back in 2028."

Wilson's main hobbies include lots of golf and basketball.
"Ben Wilson is an amazing golfer," said coach Clegg. "He moved to Utah from Washington two summers ago and has found a home at the top of the leaderboards.
