IRVING, Texas—For the third time this season, senior
Grace McCallum and freshman
Avery Neff have been recognized by the Big 12 as weekly conference standouts.
Utah has now earned two weekly awards in the same week three times in 2025, and this is the fourth straight week at least one Red Rock has been recognized.
McCallum dominated the competition last weekend at the Huntsman Center, earning three scores of 9.975 on bars, beam, and floor, while putting up a solid 9.875 on vault that resulted in the Big 12 naming her Gymnast of the Week. The senior's efforts elevated her to victory in the all-around with a season-high score of 39.800, just shy of the career-high score she set last season against Stanford of 39.825.
With McCallum's help, the Red Rocks not only walked away with a season-high score of 198.075 to secure the Big 12 Regular Season Championship outright, but also contributed to their second-highest score of the season on bars (49.550), and season-highs on beam (49.575) and floor (49.600).
McCallum currently ranks No. 1 in the country on bars, no. 6 on beam, tied for 10
th on floor, and No. 7 in the all-around.
Neff's third Big 12 nod as Newcomer of the Week comes almost six weeks after an injury she suffered against Iowa State on January 17. Since then, Neff has spent the past three weeks competing on bars, putting up her highest score on the event since her return to competition in Friday night's defeat of Denver (9.85).
Additionally, Neff added one more event to her workload last week, scoring a 9.90 on beam after only practicing full routines three days out from competition.
The Red Rocks are on a bye this weekend, but will return to competition the following week on March 8 in Seattle to take on former Pac-12 foe Washington.
