Ana Padurariu was named Newcomer of the Week for her performance on Sunday. She set the tone as the lead-off for Utah on beam, posting a 9.925, which is also a season-high for the UCLA transfer.
Padurariu's effort helped keep the Red Rocks firmly at No. 3 in the country on beam behind No. 2 Oklahoma, and No. 1 Florida.
Padurariu has been a steady presence for the Red Rocks on beam and bars since her arrival to Salt Lake City over the summer. In Sunday's meet, Padurariu tied her second-highest bars score of the season with a 9.850 to help Utah secure its second-highest score of the 2025 season, 197.425.
