AMES, Iowa— Utah Gymnastics opened Big 12 competition on the road against Iowa State with a win 195.725 to 192.300 in front of an ESPN national audience.
The Red Rocks out with a 48.750 team score on bars to give them the lead over the Cyclones (48.400) after rotation one.

Abbi Ryssman,
Ana Padurariu, and
Ella Zirbes put up triplet 9.85s while
Avery Neff added a team-high 9.875 as the Utes warmed up for the rest of the meet.

Utah shook off rotation one by posting a 49.350 on vault to give them a comfortable 98.100 to 96.450 lead over ISU.

Zirbes and Neff both recorded 9.875s with
Ashley Glynn adding a 9.85 and Zoe
Johnson contributing a 9.825.
Makenna Smith had the high score of the group with a 9.925 to set Utah up nicely heading onto floor.

In the third rotation, Utah posted a 48.125 on floor to keep the lead heading into rotation four, 146.225 to 144.125.

Zirbes and Smith had the highlights of the rotation posting a 9.85 and 9.875 respectively.

The Red Rocks finished the evening in convincing fashion with a season high 49.500 on beam to give them their final score of 195.725 and the meet win.

Ryssman set the tone for the rotation with a 9.925, setting a career high while Padurariu matched her career high of 9.95 for the high score of the event. Ganter (9.85), Smith (9.875),
Camie Winger (9.90) and Neff (9.825) rounded out the final rotation of the night, saving their best for last.
