LOS ANGELES— No. 12 Utah Gymnastics posted their best road score of the 2026 season against No. 5 UCLA on Senior Night, going 197.400 to the Bruins' 197.850.
While not a win, the Red Rocks showed determination in a rowdy environment to improve their NQS as they turn toward post season.
Â
Utah started strong on bars posting a 49.425, just .25 behind UCLA's 49.450 on vault.
Makenna Smith,
Clara Raposo, and
Ana Padurariu contributed 9.85s, setting up
Ella Zirbes for a 9.90, and
Avery Neff for a 9.975 as the exclamation point on a tough first rotation. Neff's score on bars also happened to be the highest individual event score of the entire competition.
The Red Rocks kept their momentum through the second rotation posting a 49.450 on vault to stay within striking distance of the Bruins, 98.900 – 98.875.
Camie Winger started vault off right with a 9.90 followed by a 9.925 from Zirbes. Smith and Glynn added a 9.875 and 9.825 respectively before Neff capped the event off with one more 9.925.
Utah battled through floor to earn a 49.250, but it wasn't enough to jump the Bruins, 148.300 – 148.125.
Glynn earned a 9.85 and Neff added a 9.875 to the count before Zirbes and Smith had back-to-back 9.90s heading into the fourth and final rotation on beam.
The Red Rocks closed out the night with a 49.250 on beam for their final score of 197.400.
Elizabeth Gantner started things off for Utah with a 9.85 with Zirbes and Padurariu adding 9.825s. Neff went 9.90 and Winger closed out the competition for the Utes with a 9.875.
