DAY ONE RECAP
STANFORD, Cali. — Utah Golf sits in ninth place (1-under 279) after day one of the Goodwin thanks to solid days on the links from Junior Sergio Jimenez and senior Davis Johnson.
Jimenez led Utah's effort in day one of The Goodwin, shooting 2-under 68 for a tie at 18, with Johnson hot on his heels finishing the day 1-under 69 for a tie at 27.
Junior Jack Jerge and senior Brandon Robison ended day one tied for 57th, carding two 1-over 71s to round out Utah's scoring effort in the first day of competition.
The Utes are currently 10 strokes behind No. 1 Stanford who achieved an 11-under through the first 18-holes, followed by Long Beach (10-under), and New Mexico (9-under).
