CORVALLIS, OR— Utah Gymnastics left no doubt during the Corvallis Regional Semifinal I Session on Friday afternoon, clinching its spot in the Regional Final along with No. 5 Alabama (197.225) after securing a 197.500.
"First, super proud of this team," said head coach
Carly Dockendorf. "That is a great score for us. We definitely left some tenths out there on some landings and some little things, but for us to do that on the first day of Regionals is awesome for us. We just really built our confidence heading into the final on Sunday. We competed with a lot of calmness and confidence, and stayed focused on the team from start to finish."

Utah took control of Semifinal I out of the gate, scoring a 49.350 on bars, taking an early lead, followed by Oregon State with a 49.250, Alabama with a 49.175, and Denver in fourth with a 48.925.
Makenna Smith gave the Red Rocks a solid foundation to work from in the lead-off with a 9.85 with
Abbi Ryssman adding a 9.80,
Ella Zirbes a 9.825, and
Ana Padurariu a 9.875.
Ashley Glynn and
Avery Neff were the high scorers on the apparatus for Utah posting 9.90s.
The Red Rocks kept the pace up in rotation two, earning another 49.350 on beam to tie with the Crimson Tide for first (98.700). The Pioneers jumped up to third place (98.225) and the Beavers fell to fourth (98.100).
Elizabeth Gantner was her steady self in the lead-off, posting a 9.825 followed by a pair of 9.90s from Ryssman and Padurariu. Neff earned the high score of 9.925 and
Camie Winger ended the rotation with a solid 9.80.
Utah brought the party on floor to regain the lead once more, going 49.450 on the event and 148.150 overall out of rotation three. 'Bama moved into second with a 147.875 while OSU and Denver flip-flopped pecking orders with the Beavers in third (147.450) and the Pioneers in fourth (147.200).
Sarah Krump contributed a 9.85 to start things off and
Zoe Johnson followed that performance with a 9.875. Neff exploded for the high score again, earning a 9.925, while Zirbes and Smith wrapped things up with a pair of 9.90s.
The Red Rocks kept their focus through rotation four, going 49.350 on vault to earn the session win (197.500) and advance to the Corvallis Regional Final on Sunday, April 5 at 6 p.m. MT. Alabama joined Utah in moving on with a 197.225, while Oregon State (196.375) and Denver (195.950) concluded their seasons in third and fourth place respectively.

Zirbes, Johnson, and Smith got the Red Rocks started with triple 9.85s, setting up Glynn and Neff to wrap things up with back-to-back 9.90s.
Neff was a force all through the competition, taking session wins on vault (9.90- tied with Glynn), beam (9.925), floor (9.925) and the all-around (39.650).
