With May being Mental Health Awareness Month and the challenges facing everyone during the coronavirus pandemic, we invited Jonathan Ravarino, the director of psychology and wellness for Utah Athletics, to join the program. Since Jonathan came on board in 2015, Utah has experienced tremendous growth in its mental health initiatives for student-athletes and staff. Those resources have become even more valuable since the collegiate athletics season was shut down in mid-March and student-athletes and were unexpectedly sent home. Jonathan and his staff have been working diligently to help everyone in the Utah Athletics family maintain good mental health during these trying times and prepare for what's ahead. He also offers some great advice to help everyone navigate the challenges of the current pandemic.
As the Ute teams gear up for busy late winter and early spring, Utah athletics director Mark Harlan joins us for the February 2021 edition of the Hear It From Harlan podcast. Mark looks back at the month of January, which included the ribbon cutting ceremony for the David S. Layton Golf Academy and a pair of milestone events for the Ken Garff Performance Zone at Rice-Eccles Stadium project. He also answers questions sent in by fans and welcomes All-American gymnast Cristal Isa for his one-on-one interview.
