The Utah track and field team traveled to Pocatello, Idaho, on Thursday May 4 to compete in the Idaho State Twilight meet. The first event was the hammer at 2:00 p.m. and concluded with the 4 x 400 relay around 7:15 p.m. Teams from Ricks College, College of Southern Idaho, Weber State and Utah State competed along with Utah.
Several Ute athletes turned in impressive performances on Thursday. Trina Bateman placed second in the women's 3,000-meter and Daisy Freedman took third in the 5,000-meter. In the women's high jump, Allen Erianne and Kristy Slado earned fourth and fifth for Utah.
In the men's competition, Chris Laman earned fourth in the 5,000-meter and Thomas Fortune took sixth in the discus. Torin Koos, a member of the Utah Ski Team as well, placed seventh in the 800-meter.
