SALT LAKE CITY - Andy Seeley, director of athletic media relations at Northwest Missouri State since 1997, and Scott Pettett, assistant SID at Central Michigan since 2001, have been hired as assistant sports information directors at the University of Utah. The announcement came today from Utah assistant A.D./sports information director Liz Abel.
Seeley has directed the publicity efforts for Northwest Missouri State's 15-sport program for the past seven years. He was also on the media relations staff for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City, working speed skating at the Utah Olympic Oval. Seeley graduated from Northwest Missouri State in 1994 and has over 14 years of experience in media relations and journalism. He will serve as the primary media contact for women's basketball and baseball at Utah.
Pettett has worked in the sports information office at Central Michigan since 1999, first serving as an intern for two years before being promoted to assistant SID. He has worked extensively with the Chippewa women's basketball, women's soccer, and cross country and track & field programs. The Denver, Colo., native received his bachelor's degree from Colorado State University in 1997. Pettett will be the primary media contact for the Ute women's volleyball and softball teams.
