SALT LAKE CITY -
The Crimson Club and the Deseret Morning News welcome Ute fans of all ages to join them in kicking off the 2003-2004 Ute athletics season at the fourth annual Ute Fan Fest on Saturday, August 23. Also sponsored by Ken Garff Auto Dealerships and Hogi Yogi, the festivities will take place at Rice-Eccles Stadium from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Admission and parking are free.
Student-athletes and coaches from all 19 Ute athletic teams will participate in the Fan Fest. Fans who bring their own cameras can have their pictures taken with the players and coaches (pictures with the Ute football team will begin at 11:30). The Fan Fest will also include demonstrations, coaching tips and competitions, autographs, prize drawings, food, drinks and entertainment by the U. pep band, cheerleaders and Crimson Line. Fans will also get a chance to check out the Olympic Cauldron Park and Salt Lake 2002 Visitors Center, new to the Rice-Eccles Stadium plaza.
