SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah men's basketball team's annual Night with the Runnin' Utes will be held Monday at 7:00 p.m. in the Jon M. Huntsman Center. The event is free to the public and will give Utah fans a chance to preview the 2001-02 edition of the Runnin' Utes. Crimson Club members are also invited to a photo session with the team at 5:30 p.m.
Head coach Rick Majerus and his staff will introduce the players and run through practice drills before dividing them up for an intrasquad scrimmage. A three-point shooting contest and a slam dunk contest will also take place.
Majerus makes his return to the bench after missing most of last season. Also returning are all five starters and four other lettermen from last year's team that went 19-12, won a share of the Mountain West Conference championship and advanced to the NIT. The roster includes four seniors, as well as Britton Johnsen, who earned second team all-Mountain West honors, and Nick Jacobson, the conference Freshman of the Year. The fans will also get their first look at five newcomers.
