Mission
The University of Utah Sports Medicine staff is committed to providing evidence-based, multidisciplinary, athlete-centered health care to support the overall health and well-being of Utah student-athletes. This includes but is not limited to pre-participation exams (physicals), injury prevention, injury evaluation, physical therapy and rehabilitation of injuries, and sideline care for our teams. The University of Utah Sports Medicine team has 21 certified athletic trainers, 2 physical therapists, 9 primary care sports medicine physicians, and 4 orthopedic surgeons. In addition, the University of Utah Health system includes an array of incredible medical specialists who further ensure Utah student-athletes receive the best health care possible.

We recommend all student-athletes carry primary health insurance. Please direct any and all health insurance related questions Libby Keuffel, Administrative Manager for Athletic Training, at 801-587-9096 or by email at lkeuffel@huntsman.utah.edu.If you receive any medical bills or EOB (explanation of benefits) related to your child's participation in athletics, please forward them immediately to Libby via email.
