Athletic Academic Advising
Athletics Academic Advisors (AAA) provide academic support for ALL Utah student-athletes, regardless of scholarship status. They are responsible for informing and educating student-athletes on Department of Athletics, Big 12, and NCAA academic eligibility/certification standards and regulations. Athletics Academic Advisors work cooperatively with College/Departmental major advisors in order to assist student-athletes in navigating Utah degree programs and all associated requirements while monitoring ongoing NCAA progress towards degree (PTD). Athletics Academic Advisors are responsible for conducting weekly meetings with incoming freshmen/transfers and identified student-athletes to monitor academic progress while mentoring as needed. Athletics Academic Advisors are also responsible for meeting with prospective student-athletes and parents during both official and unofficial recruiting visits to highlight the importance of academic support, retention, and graduation.  Â
