Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL)Â is the promotion of a business, product, service, or individual by a student-athlete. Student-athletes may receive financial compensation or benefits for the promotion of a commercial entity, service, or product.

To present a NIL opportunity to any Utah student-athlete, please use Elevate U Exchange.Â
Elevate U Exchange is a student-athlete NIL business marketplace, custom-designed for businesses, donors, alumni, and any others interested in connecting with student-athletes for NIL opportunities. Registered businesses or individuals can search, filter and initiate conversations with student-athletes to discuss an NIL deal.Â
Once the NIL contract between a registered business or individual and a student-athlete is completed, the business or individual will use the Elevate U Exchange to create a transaction that will directly pay the student-athlete (without any transaction fee) and automate a disclosure to the Utah Athletics Compliance Team.Â

The University of Utah or Utah Athletics cannot be involved in any transaction per NCAA Rules, but all transactions within the local exchange are consolidated into one 1099 form at the end of the year for easier tax-reporting purposes for registered business and student-athletes alike.Â
