Student-AthletesÂ
Student-athletes may submit a request to use University of Utah trademarked logos in print, video, or on social media, by visiting
https://licensing.utah.edu/. The following non-exhaustive list includes examples of University protected logos and trademarks: interlocking U. block U, circle and feather, Utah Utes, Red Rocks, UofU, UBoyz, Sack Lake City, Salt Lax City, Runnin’ Utes, etc.
Â
Businesses and IndividualsÂ
Businesses or individuals creating NIL opportunities for student-athletes will not be permitted to use university marks without obtaining those rights either through the University of Utah’sÂ
Auxiliary Business Development office, or by becoming an official sponsor of Utah Athletics throughÂ
Utes Sports Properties.
Â
Group Licensing
The partnership with The Brandr Group allows for the collective use of student-athletes' NIL in licensing and corporate marketing programs, co-branded with Utah's logos and marks. Student-athletes will have the option to voluntarily join a group licensing program. The Brandr Group will facilitate group licensing opportunities on behalf of the student-athletes, and the program does not limit individual NIL rights. Potential licensees interested in learning more should contact Kathleen Melvin at The Brandr Group atÂ
