BJ Das, an acclaimed professional choreographer and dancer based in Los Angeles, is in her first year as a volunteer coach/choreographer for the Utah gymnastics team.
Das brings a unique style to Utah’s routines, drawing from her professional portfolio of choreography for the Emmy Awards, GLOW (Netflix) and Apple Music, Ford and Mountain Dew commercials, among others. Her extensive list of dance credits includes the Ellen Show, the Oscars, the Late Show with James Corden and a number of Disney and Nickelodeon shows. Das has also danced on stage and in music videos for the likes of Beyonce, Pink, Usher, Avril Lavigne, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande. She is represented by the BLOC Talent Agency.
“We are very fortunate to attract a choreographer of BJ’s caliber,” said Utah co-head coach Tom Farden. “She has worked alongside some of the music industry’s gold standards, which will show in our gymnasts’ routines. BJ’s vision and work ethic are a perfect match for our program.”
A Seattle native, Das (pronounced dah-s) was a Level 10 gymnast who went on to compete collegiately at Washington, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
