Maile O’Keefe is set to begin her first season as a student-assistant coach in 2024-25 after concluding her historic career as a Red Rock gymnast.
O’Keefe left her mark on the Utah Gymnastics record book, setting the program record for career perfect 10.0 scores (15). She also holds the top spot for perfect 10.0 scores on beam (10) and a single-season perfect scores with (6) in 2023. O’Keefe’s final two seasons as a Red Rock would see her be listed as a finalist of the prestigious AAI Award in 2023 and 2024.
The former Utah standout helped lead the Red Rocks to four consecutive third-place finishes at the NCAA Championships. As one of the nation’s top beam workers, O’Keefe helped the Red Rocks lineup to a top NQS ranking in back-to-back seasons in 2022 and 2023 on the apparatus. She ranked second in the nation as an individual, after the 2024 season with an NQS of 9.990. O’Keefe also ranked in the top 20 on floor, earning an NQS of 9.945 in 2024.
The Las Vegas, Nev., native, is a four-time NCAA National Champion (Bars, Floor – 2021; All-Around, Beam – 2023). As a 19-time All-American (7 regular season, 12 NCAA), O’Keefe closed out her career with 2024 first-team honors on beam and floor. Collecting a pair of Pac-12 Specialist of the Year honors in 2022 and 2023, O’Keefe earned Pac-12 Gymnast of the Year in 2021.
Wrapping up her career, O'Keefe was honored with the final edition of the Pac-12 Conference 2023-24 Tom Hansen Medal, bestowed to each institution's outstanding male and female senior athlete who exhibitions the greatest combination of performance and achievement in scholarship, athletics and leadership. Her career included 76 wins with over 220 routines hit. A five-time Pac-12 Champion, nearly sweeping the events in 2021, taking the all-around, bars, beam and floor title; she added one final beam crown to her collection with a score of 10.0 in 2024. O’Keefe was named Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week seven times throughout her career.
O’Keefe graduated with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology in the spring of 2023 and is currently working toward a Positive Psychology Certificate. Off the competition floor, O’Keefe was a four-time WCGA Scholastic All-American and Pac-12 Academic Honor Rolle earner, also being honored as a two-time CSC Academic All-District selection.
