Mady White is in her third year with the Utah Gymnastics team after receiving a title upgrade to Chief of Staff in the offseason.
White is responsible for handling the program’s administrative duties, including all team travel and organizing student-athlete schedules. She serves as a liaison with alumni, the marketing and ticketing offices, and works closely with Utah’s event management staff. Additionally, White is heavily involved with fundraising efforts, team publicity appearances and charitable events. With the NIL legislation going into effect, White has taken on responsibilities as Utah’s NIL coordinator to better serve the Utah gymnasts in their NIL activities as well.
White previously worked in the Utah Athletics Communications office for five years, primarily as the director of communications for the gymnastics, volleyball, and beach volleyball teams. While working in communications, White served as the liaison between the teams and other external and internal departments in athletics, as well as outside media sources. She has closely worked with the ESPN team which produces the national championship broadcasts, the Pac-12 Network, as well as personnel across local and national media during her time with Utah Gymnastics.Â
White had responsibilites ranging from media availabilities with athletes and coaches to tasks like meet notes, media guides, running social media accounts, and working alongside the marketing department.Â
Prior to becoming a full-time employee in the communications department in 2019, White was a student intern in the office during her undergraduate degree where she had experience with 11 different teams at Utah. She also worked with the ESPN and Fox networks for football and basketball broadcasts as a statistician and spotter for the crew or talent during games.Â
The West Haven, Utah native graduated from the University of Utah in 2019 with a double major in operations and supply chain management.Â
